Mr. North is the Chief Actuary for the New York City Retirement Systems. In this capacity he serves as technical advisor to the Boards of Trustees of the these Retirement Systems covering more than 300,000 active and 200,000 retired participants with approximately $80 billion in assets as of June 30, 2003.

Prior to joining the New York City Retirement Systems, Mr. North served as Director of Forecasting and Planning Services with Buck Consultants, Inc., as a Consultant with Towers Perrin Forster & Crosby, Inc. and as Chief Administrative Officer with A. Foster Higgins & Co., Inc. in New York. He also served as Senior Vice President responsible for a subsidiary corporation and for corporate-wide human resource and administrative functions for Ocwen Financial Corporation, a merchant banking firm in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Mr. North has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the American Society of Pension Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary.
